Inbox by Gmail

Inbox by Gmail

Review

Gmail has been a dominant communication channel for millions of people around the globe for over a decade now. The free email service has a handy app that simplifies everything email.

Here’s a more in-depth look at what this app has in store for you.

Design 4/5

You would expect a different model when it comes to an app made for a service that has been in existence for years, yet Inbox by Gmail is somewhat bland. Nonetheless, this layout is good news for most Gmail users considering it resembles the service’s original design. As such, navigation is made more natural, and everything is easy to find thanks to familiar toolbars.

Inbox by Gmail also has a highlights design, which allows you to view essential notifications without having to open the application. Inbox by Gmail was designed to keep things organized and helps you focus on what matters.

Content and Features 5/5

As far as its features go, Inbox by Gmail has pretty much the same attributes as its desktop version. Once logged in, you can message any of your synced contacts with ease or bundle similar messages together to enable a particular action on them all at once. This app also features reminders which come in handy for the emails meant to be sent at a later date.

This app also has a snooze feature that helps you to postpone viewing your emails to a later time if you are busy at the moment. Inbox by Gmail also comes with a built-in search tab by the Google Team alongside spam protection and message storage in Gmail. The smart search tab enables you to find whatever you’re looking for, ranging from flights to your friend’s contacts.

User Experience 4/5

Inbox by Gmail is a significant upgrade from the Gmail App. It might take up to 241.7 MBs of space on your phone, but this app from Google is easy to use thanks to a familiar user experience. Nonetheless, the ‘ask me every time’ popup gets annoying, which is an issue that can be fixed by Google in one of the app’s upcoming updates.

For the best user experience, ensure the app is updated every time a new app version is released. For starters, the latest update enables you to swipe forward and get search suggestions by using your voice.

Compatibility 4/5

Inbox by Gmail is compatible with iOS 10.0 or above and can run on devices such as the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Inbox by Gmail is also compatible with the Android OS (version 4.1 and up) and web browsers.

Conclusion

Inbox by Gmail is a fantastic app for all Gmail users seeing it adds convenience to your mailing needs. With this app, you can delete emails as a bunch with ease or set reminders so that you don't miss sending one. Nonetheless, Google needs to optimize this app for iPhone X.
