AT&T Mobile Transfer

Review

AT&T Mobile Transfer is an app that lets you transfer pictures, contacts, music, videos and messages from an old device to a new one wirelessly. The only thing you need to do is to download this app on both devices and simply follow the instructions to connect your devices and transfer all your data.

Design 5/5

This is a simple application meant to achieve only one function: the fast transfer of data between devices. For this reason, the user interface is straightforward and minimalistic in design. Upon opening the application, you will see an option to begin the transfer. You can choose either to transfer from or to the device. There is a descriptive image at the top of the prompt as an illustration.

Icons are large enough to enable you to detect them easily. The menu transitions are very fluid and responsive. This feature makes the app snappy and allows users to navigate to specific commands easily.

Content and Features 5/5

AT&T Mobile Transfer app has few features since it is only designed for file transfer. First, a user needs to check if both devices are eligible for the service. To be sure of this, you can check compatibility on the official AT&T website. They have listed all the compatible devices. Once you have found that your device is compatible, you can then proceed to the next step.

Launch the application on both devices, i.e., the source and the target device. In case prompted for permissions, grant them accordingly. Ensure that Wi-Fi is turned on both devices and they are connected to the same network. Select “From this phone” on the source device and “To this phone” on the target device. Scan the QR code from the old device via the app’s QR reader on the new phone. Select content for transfer and then tap on “Transfer.”

User Experience 5/5

Users find this application very helpful while upgrading from old to new phones. Everything transfers seamlessly, and all data gets organized accordingly. However, if you have a poor connection, the transfer might get interrupted and even cause the application to crash.

Otherwise, it is swift and simple to exchange content. Some users have complained about the lack of compatibility across some devices. A few others have also stated that the app sometimes fails to transfer some data. The possible explanation for this is DRM issues that prevent the transfer of copyrighted content, so keep that in mind.

Compatibility 5/5

This application requires iOS 8.0 or later. You can run the app on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. For Android, it only requires version 4.4 and above. It runs smoothly on supported devices without any hitches.

Conclusion

This is a handy application for those looking to switch devices. While doing that, you don’t have to worry about the time-consuming manual transfers and having to rearrange settings and manage contacts. Just a few taps are enough to get you set up and start using your new device.
